Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 4, 2026

This policy explains what information 1RM ("the App") collects, how it's used, and your choices. 1RM is developed by Abhi Parasher ("we," "us"). If anything here isn't clear, email us. The address is at the bottom of this page.

1 Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase; we never see or store your password in plain text).

Profile and health information you enter. Height, weight, age, activity level, training experience, and training goals, used to build your training plan and estimate calories/1RM. This is stored locally on your device and, if you're signed in, included in your account backup (see "Account backup" below).

Workout data. Exercises, sets, reps, weights, and rest times you log. Stored locally on your device and, if you're signed in, included in your account backup.

Body weight logs and progress photos. Any weight entries or transformation photos you add are stored locally on your device by default. If you're signed in, this data is also included in your account backup (see "Account backup" below) so it isn't lost if you switch devices. We don't otherwise view, analyze, or use your photos for anything.

Profile picture. If you choose to upload an avatar, it's stored in our cloud storage and is accessible via a direct link. This is what lets it show up on your profile and in the App for other users.

Social profile information. If you set up a social profile, we store the display name and visibility setting you choose. If you turn your profile's visibility on, the following also becomes visible to other users of the App: your avatar, join date, workout count, trophies you've earned, and any exercises' personal-best weights or progress charts you choose to feature. We also store who you follow and who follows you, and a feed of your personal-record and streak-milestone events, which is shown to your followers.

Account backup. When you're signed in, finishing a workout (or explicitly requesting one from Settings) saves a full backup of your local data (workouts, weigh-ins, body weight logs and photos, your training plan, trophies, and settings) to our database under your account. This is what lets your data follow your account rather than being tied to one device: signing into your account on a new device, or after reinstalling, restores this backup. We don't access or use this data ourselves beyond storing and returning it to you.

Step count. If you grant permission, we read your daily step count to show a step count and calorie estimate: on iPhone from the phone's motion and fitness data, and on Android from Health Connect (read-only; we only request the Steps data type and never write anything to Health Connect). Daily step totals are saved in the app on your device and, if you have an account, included in your private account backup described above so they can be restored when you sign in again. Step data is only used to show you your own steps and calorie estimate. It is never shown to other users, sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising. You can revoke access at any time in your phone's settings or in the Health Connect app.

Trophy verification submissions. If you submit a personal record for verification, you provide a video, gym name, location, and (optionally) an Instagram handle. The video is uploaded to a private folder in our file storage that only you and our reviewers can access, and is used only to review the record. The gym, location, and Instagram handle you enter are stored in our database for the same purpose. If a submission is rejected, its video is deleted. Videos and submission details are also deleted when you use Redo setup or delete your account.

Subscription information. Purchases and subscription status are handled by our billing provider, RevenueCat, and Apple's App Store or Google Play. We receive your subscription status (active/expired) but never your payment details. Apple or Google handles all payment processing.

Reports about other users. If you report another user, we store the reason you pick, any details you add, which account you reported, and your account, so we can review it. Only we can see reports; the person you reported is never told who reported them. If the report can't be saved, the App instead opens your device's mail app with the report addressed to us.

Feedback you send us. If you use the in-app feedback form, your message is sent via your device's own mail app to our support address. We don't store it separately.

Notifications. The App can schedule local notifications to let you know when a rest timer finishes and when a muscle group has recovered enough to train again. These are handled entirely by your device's operating system. We never receive or store anything about them.

Usage and analytics data. To understand how the App is used and where people get stuck, we use Google Firebase Analytics. It records which screens you open, steps you complete in setup, features you use (for example finishing a workout), and events such as signing up, viewing the subscription screen, or starting a purchase, along with basic device and app information (device model, operating system, app version, language, approximate location from your IP address) and an app-instance identifier. We do not send your name, email address, health information, workout contents, or photos to analytics.

Advertising measurement. We use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure whether our ads led to an install or sign-up. It receives app events such as installs, app opens, sign-ups, and subscription starts, plus basic device information. We do not enable advertiser ID collection, and the SDK does not receive your workout, health, or profile data.

2 How we use this information

  • To operate the App's core features (tracking, plans, goal progress)
  • To verify your identity and maintain your account
  • To back up your data to your account and restore it on any device you sign into
  • To provide the social features you opt into: a public profile, following other users, and an activity feed
  • To confirm personal-record submissions
  • To manage your subscription and entitlements
  • To understand how the App is used, fix problems, and improve it
  • To measure the performance of our advertising
  • To respond to feedback or support requests

We do not sell your information. We do not use your data to show you ads inside the App. Usage analytics and advertising measurement are described above.

3 Who we share information with

  • Supabase: our authentication, database, and file-storage provider, which stores your account credentials, account backup (including body photos and your avatar), social profile data, and any trophy-verification submissions you make.
  • RevenueCat, Apple, and Google: to process and manage your subscription.
  • Google (Firebase Analytics): receives the usage events and basic device information described above, to give us analytics reports.
  • Meta Platforms: receives the app events and basic device information described above, to measure advertising.
  • Other users of the App: if you turn your profile's visibility on, your display name, avatar, workout/trophy counts, featured personal bests and progress charts, and PR/streak-milestone activity are visible to other users (your activity feed is shown specifically to your followers). Your profile is visible by default once you finish setup, and you can turn visibility off at any time in Settings, after which it is private and unsearchable.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone else. Supabase, RevenueCat, Apple, and Google (for billing) only process it to provide their service to us. Google and Meta process analytics and advertising-measurement data under their own terms and privacy policies.

4 Data storage and retention

Your data lives on your device first. If you're signed in, a backup of it (including body photos) is also kept on our servers under your account, and anything you choose to make public via your social profile is stored there too. Account, backup, and trophy-verification data is retained until you delete your account or request removal.

5 Your choices

You can turn your profile's visibility off at any time in Settings to stop sharing it with other users. This doesn't delete data already stored, but it's no longer visible to anyone but you. You can block another user from their profile at any time, which also removes any follow between you, and report a user directly from their profile if their behavior violates these terms. You can permanently delete your account and all associated server-stored data (account credentials, backup, avatar, social profile, trophy-verification submissions, reports you've made) at any time, immediately, from Settings, with no request or waiting required. Data stored only on your device is deleted when you delete the App.

Deleting your account without the App. If you no longer have the App installed, email feedback@1repm.com from the email address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We'll permanently delete your account and all of its server-stored data listed above within 30 days and confirm by email.

6 Children's privacy

1RM is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

7 Changes to this policy
